It has to be said

“So was Guild Wars 2 everything you dreamed of?”

This question was asked of me by a friend after the last BWE and ever since I’ve been trying to come up with a response that would best explain how I after logging off Sunday night. Many things have been said and many posts are far better than mine will be but to answer the question, hell fucking yes. I’ve tried to be objective about my opinion but its been hard. Guild Wars 2 for all intent and purposes is the MMO I have been waiting for. Despite the issues I faced that weekend I had an absolute blast. So much so that on Sunday night I didn’t want to log off.

There is something to be said about the attraction of the new and shiny. It sparkles in front of us like that epic loot drop we’ve been farming for months. We are drawn to it like a moth to a flame and boy is the flame of Guild Wars 2 very bright for me. I know there are issues but at the end of the day the game is just plain fun for me. Nothing beats roaming around the countryside and happening upon an event. Last nights stress test showed me that just because you’ve been some place once it doesn’t mean it will always be the same again. If there is one thing the team at ArenaNet has accomplished its that they’ve some how managed to create a living breathing world.

I think its safe to say I’m addicted and I’m not ashamed to admit it. I can not wait for this game to be released so I can continue on what I can only imagine will be an awesome journey.
